SILICONE ADHESIVE TAPES
GERGOSIL silicone adhesive tapes are designed to deliver reliable adhesion across a wide range of materials, including silicone-coated surfaces, technical films, and low surface energy substrates.
They are primarily engineered to meet the requirements of critical industrial applications such as splicing of silicone materials (silicone release liners and silicone-coated films), masking powder paint, as well as high-temperature bonding and assembly operations.
The GERGOSIL range includes both single-sided and double-sided silicone tapes, all based on Gergonne’s PSStech (Pressure Sensitive Silicone) technology. These solutions are developed to ensure thermal performance, stability, and durability in demanding industrial environments.

Single-sided silicone tapes
The single-sided silicone adhesive tapes by GERGOSIL are available in 3 colors (green, yellow and red). They have specific technical features in order to meet customer requirements. They are mainly used for splicing applications.
| Product | Adhesive colour | Carrier | Thickness without liner | Maxi temperature resistance on steel | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 900S | Red | PET film 36 μm | 80 μm | 200°C | Technical sheet |

| 904S | Green | PET film 50 μm | 95 μm | 200°C | Technical sheet |
Single-sided silicone tapes – anti-adhesive backside
The single-sided silicone adhesive tapes by GERGOSIL with anti-adhesive backside are mainly used for adhesive or siliconised film and paper roll splicing applications. They ensure a continuous non-adhesive surface.
| Product | Adhesive colour | Carrier | Thickness without liner | Maxi temperature resistance on steel | |

| 902S | Blue | PET film 36 μm | 85 μm | 200°C | Technical sheet |
| 903C | Transparent | PET film 23 μm | 68 μm | 200°C | Technical sheet |
Single-sided silicone tapes – High temperatures
The high temperature single-sided silicone adhesive tapes from GERGOSIL are available in blue and green versions and are perfectly suited for applications such as: splicing, masking for powder coating, flash tape for vacuum bagging or even for the glass industry.
| Product | Adhesive colour | Carrier | Thickness without liner | Maxi. temperature resistance on steel | |

Characteristics and advantages :
- High bonding capacity on siliconized surfaces and LSE (Low Surface Energy) plastics
- Resists high temperatures, external conditions, chemical agents, ageing
- Removable without residue in most cases
- Color coding for easy product identification
- Available in logs, rolls or in pull-tabs.
Pull-tab Siltab
Easy to peel from their own liner, silicone adhesive SILTABs consist in a silicone adhesive section with a high adhesion power on various siliconized substrates (ex: siliconized papers or films), and a paper section, allowing an easy hand-seizure.
Pull-tabs allow easy removal of silicone paper on die-cut components, and can also be used as flagging to identify a defective area in a roll.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The presence of residue after removing a silicone adhesive tape mainly depends on three factors:
– the silicone adhesive formulation (cohesion, thermal stability, adhesion level)
– the nature of the substrate (steel, aluminum, powder coating, porous plastics, paper or silicone release liner)
– the operating conditions (application at room temperature, exposure to high temperatures, dwell time, applied pressure)Residue depending on the industrial application :
In silicone release liner splicing applications, residue is generally negligible due to the natural compatibility between silicone adhesive and silicone-coated surfaces. However, during powder coating masking operations or when applied to certain porous substrates, micro-residue may occasionally occur depending on thermal and mechanical stresses.Solution: high-cohesion silicone technology :
The GERGOSIL range, developed using PSStech technology, is based on a high-performance silicone adhesive formulation offering:
– enhanced internal cohesion
– excellent thermal stability
– strong ageing resistance
– clean removal without adhesive mass transfer (within the temperature limits specified in the TDS)
This Gergonne technology ensures reliable bonding performance while providing clean removal without marks or residue in the vast majority of industrial applications. In summary, GERGOSIL silicone adhesive tapes are engineered to deliver:
– controlled adhesion
– high temperature resistance
– residue-free removal on most technical substratesTo confirm compatibility with your specific substrate, preliminary testing under real operating conditions is recommended.

Yes. High-performance silicone adhesive tapes, such as the GERGOSIL range, offer excellent resistance to chemicals and solvents, outperforming acrylic or rubber-based PSA adhesives. Thanks to their cross-linked polymer structure, silicone adhesive masses provide high chemical stability, even in demanding industrial environments.
Chemical resistance of GERGOSIL silicone adhesive tapes :
GERGOSIL silicone adhesive tapes are compatible with a wide range of chemical agents, including:
– Water and humid environments: fresh water, salt water, microbiologically active water, humid or corrosive atmospheres
– Common and industrial solvents: alcohols (ethanol, isopropanol, etc.), ketones, aliphatic hydrocarbons
– Strong acids and bases, particularly those used in metal surface treatment, stripping, or pre-coating preparationNote: Exposure to highly aggressive agents such as hydrofluoric acid or concentrated sulfuric acid requires prior validation. Exposure time, concentration, and temperature must be tested under real operating conditions.
Like any adhesive technology, silicone adhesive tapes with PET carrier may show sensitivity to:
– aromatic hydrocarbons
– non-polar solvents
– certain industrial oils (aromatic oils and silicone oils)In summary, GERGOSIL silicone adhesive tapes provide:
– superior chemical resistance compared to acrylic and rubber-based PSAs
– excellent durability in humid and saline environments
– compatibility with most industrial solvents
– stability suited to surface treatment processesFor applications involving aggressive chemical environments, prior compatibility testing is recommended to validate long-term performance.
